Abstract

The author discusses some issues evoked by the interview with Yolanda Gampel. She sees in the possibility of a testimony, of the sharing with another of a traumatic experience - in psychoanalysis or in other fields -, a possibility of psychic reconstruction of those who have undergone extreme situations of violence. She also deals with the boundaries between internal and external reality, as well as the weight of individual and cultural factors in the constitution of traumatic experiences.
