Abstract

Starting from the examination of international conflicts that involve refugees, the author briefly writes about situations of exile and migrations that were experienced by remarkable psychoanalysts. The author comments about the impact of these experiences on these psychoanalysts' scientific production. Their contributions to the psychoanalytic thinking may be particularly applied to humanitarian practices. The author refers to other authors in order to illustrate, in some concepts, the importance of the psychoanalytic thinking. The paper highlights the close connection between psychoanalytic, social, and cultural fields.
