Abstract

BATISTELLI, Fátima Maria Vieira. Between huts and refuge: the analyst's dreaming as a connection for the strange and the familiar. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2019, vol.53, n.3, pp. 167-180. ISSN 0486-641X.

As theory and technique, psychoanalysis has been evolving and transforming since its beginning. Following this scenario the psychoanalytical process has been more and more seen as a link: two people meet, two minds, having a psychic world possible to be shared. How must one include, then, through the psychoanalytical vision, the work with autistic children, who are confined in their refuge, where self-generated feelings are dominant due to lack of interaction and human connections? Besides, at the same time autistic children may arouse in us the familiar encounter with childhood, through the way they show themselves to the world, they may also make us feel the direct contact with different experiences, restlessness and wonder. How can we, then, connect the non-familiar that is presented and the familiar that is part of human nature? Through vignettes from sessions with two autistic children, this work seeks sharing with the reader how our psychoanalytical knowledge may be used and how the analyst's psyche, after going through intense non-portrayal experiences, may be able to use their ability of dreaming and hallucinating in order to help these children to deal with the nonportrayal possibilities under the autistic refuges.

Keywords : autism; psychoanalysis; non-portrayal; dream; subjectivation.
