Abstract

ALENCAR, Sabira. There are 788 steps: psychoanalysis up on the hill. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2018, vol.40, n.38, pp. 59-76. ISSN 1413-6295.

This article offers certain reflections about the presence of a psychoanalyst in environments that are neither private consultations, nor other establishments part of the healthcare network. In this case, the work involved a string orchestra located high up in a favela of Rio de Janeiro. Most of the children and teenagers catered to by this project were marked by some form of social suffering, the result of a lack of social recognition that, according to Ferenczi, can be considered a form of denial. Among the psychological implications is the devitalization of the subject, subjective fragmentation or what Winnicott would call the depletion of creativity.

Keywords : Denial; Brazilian favela; Reciprocal recognition; Social suffering; Facilitating environment.
