This article, first published in Cause Commune (n. 1, p. 77-88, col. 10-18, n. 1143, 1977), is a translation of French writer George Perec’s report of his psychoanalytical experience (from May of 1971 to June of 1975) as a patient of J.-B. Pontalis. The importance of this text is that the author not only tells us what meant to him, personally, to have been in analysis, but he also offers us a rare description of the time and the rhythm of psychoanalysis.
