Abstract

WINOGRAD, Monah. Psychoanalysis, cognitive science and neuroscience: notes for a dialogue on the thinking body. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.19, pp. 179-195. ISSN 1415-1138.

Our objective is to elaborate notes for a dialogue among psychoanalysis, cognitive sciences and neurosciences. The axis of this dialogue is our current experience of the body. Foucault helps us in building an account of how the body became a privileged object of power-knowledge, of the production of naturalizations of the psyche and of cultures of narcissism in which the subject is reduced to its body-image. Nowadays, studies on cognition bring Freudian cognition back and conclude that the psyche emerges from the living body in order to account for the excess of intensities that reach it. In order to recover the Freudian concept of drive - as strength, power, interface and membrane - we argue that our body pulses the psyche.
