This paper aims to identify the status of vocational students in fifth semester of Centro de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos del Estado de Sonora (CECyTES) plantel III de Hermosillo. Was used as a guide model Rimada Peña and a set of inventories. It is noted that of 233 students 9.9%, do not have yet options to be studied; 67.3% who have studied, do not have information about the careers. 37.1% do not show congruence between their interests and skills, and only 15% do not have correspondence between the interests and skills and their professional choices. It is concluded that knowing the situation of students, is possible design of support strategies that can provide guidance for choosing a career.
