The Covid-19 pandemic is an unprecedented event in terms of health and social emergencies worldwide. Studies have shown worrying results related to mental health, with emphasis on the increase in symptoms related to anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Depending on the context, there was a need to adopt social distance as a preventive measure against contagion by the coronavirus, which affected the provision of mental health services, which needed to adopt remote care. The aim of this article was to carry out a bibliographic survey on the impact of the pandemic on mental health and to understand how psychological and psychiatric support services were adapted. To this end, a search was carried out between July and September 2020 in the databases of the CAPES journal portal and in Google Schoolar, with the keywords pandemic, COVID-19, mental health, online psychotherapy and remote service. Of the works found, 11 were selected through the abstracts that addressed the impacts of the pandemic on mental health and five that dealt with remote care strategies and online psychotherapy, carried out in the last 10 years. Subsequently, the organization of the material was carried out addressing the pandemic of COVID-19 and the impacts on mental health; the consequences of isolation, social distance and quarantine; the importance of mental health care and the organization of remote care. Finally, online psychotherapy and its possibilities, limitations and as a strategy to be used in the context of the pandemic and in the post-pandemic future were discussed.
