Abstract

FEIJO, Marianne Ramos; GOULART JUNIOR, Edward; NASCIMENTO, Jéssica Mendes do  and  NASCIMENTO, Nashila Beatriz do. Work-family conflict: a study on the subject in the Brazilian context. Pensando fam. [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp. 105-119. ISSN 1679-494X.

This text makes considerations about work-family conflict and it was elaborated after a narrative review. Eighteen articles published between 2010 and 2015 were accessed in Scielo database. Descriptors “work”, “family” and “conflict” were used, and six of these articles treated about the main issue. Study reveals that, even though a small amount and deepening, there are relevant theoretical discussions and interventions related to this referred conflict in Brazil, and a part of them treats genre inequality and time factor as frequent constraints to work-family balance. Review of current genre roles in contemporary society is necessary mainly because women have been achieving more space in management positions, organizations increasingly have acted in an unstable and competitive environment and the economic conditions have generated more pressure over families, in order to they obtain new income sources, without a division of necessary household tasks for the woman's stay in the labour market.

Keywords : Conflict; Work; Family; Organizations; Worker’s health.
