This paper proposes a reflection about the performance of an institutional psychologist in managing families and staff from an Autistic Association. It presents the difficulties and challenges encountered, how the professional acted and which goals were reached during her work in the institution. It also reports her arrival to the institution, the process of change to shelter the unknown until the configuration of the support group for the families.
