Abstract The acknowledgment of the potentialities and limitations of the human resources is a high priority matter for information system's development. Beside of it, a new paradigm starts to the Information Age, valuing intangible organization assets and starting what is began to be known as the Age of Knowledge. The man and their cognition capabilities, the basic part of the relations that create and utilize knowledge, are the focus points for the researchers, with the work memory having a very relevant role. Running in parallel, have been developed: basic models, tool and methods to support the management of organizations, and, among them, the People Capability Maturity Model (P-CMM), a specialized version of a wider model for processes management, which focus is the people management. This article presents a proposal for an analysis of the aspects, in the format of a checklist, involved with the working memory of the activities developed by workers within organizations, under the perspective of the P-CMM.© Ciências & Cognição 2006; Vol. 08: 59-67.
