Resumen

Fundamented on Jean Piaget's theory, it takes the representation conducts of the symbolic function, manifested by children in pre-operatory development stage, as a means to evaluate their cognitive and affective development in psicopedagogical clinic. From such perspective, a case study was conducted with a child between May 2005, when he was 5;10 of age, and March 2006, when he was 6;8. The results obtained showed the relevance of the proposed methodology, since the child felt comfortable to express himself through representation conducts, allowing the investigation of different aspects related to the cognitive and affective development.
