Abstract

BOUYER, Gilbert Cardoso. Perception and work in the Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.2, pp. 59-73. ISSN 1806-5821.

This paper analyzes, by methods of ergonomic work analysis and cognitive work analysis, how cognitive structures emerge from the recurrent sensorimotor patterns in the perceptually-guided-action. The point of departure in this enactive approach is the study of how the worker can guide perceptively his action in work situations. The results showed that these situations constantly change as a result of the worker's activity, and that the reference point of understanding perception is no longer a pre-given world and a perceiver-independent world, but rather the sensorimotor structure of the worker - the way in which the nervous system links sensory and motor surfaces

Keywords : cognition; action; perception; work activity.
