The use of conceptual mapping in learning projects: an evaluation with quantitative and qualitative parameters of the conceptual mobilization on animals' subject. Ciênc. cogn. One of the ways of increasing the value of pre-knowledge in students is to implement learning projects in which the students themselves are the protagonists. The curiosity of students in class increases learning possibilities. Based on these and other assumptions pertaining to Ausubel, Novak and Moreira's Meaningful Learning theory, a study (a Case Analysis) was carried out to evaluate the results of a learning projects that made use of conceptual maps in the teaching of seventh grade science, more specifically zoology. The data was analyzed using statistical and qualitative parameters and were obtained through conceptual maps and other reference points from the early and final stages of the process. In conclusion, the set of concepts was stable in quantity, but modified the structure of scientific quality. All the procedures for the research were carried with the previous permission of the teacher and students who had been invited to participate in the project
