Abstract

MENDES JUNIOR, Walcler de Lima. The pedagogy of songs in the architecture of the musical city: verses, news and chronicles as music speechs of the brazilian urbanity. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.7, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1808-4281.

The questions presented in this article relate to the current stage of my research for doctor thesis. After certain reserch of the songs of the first half of century XX, some questions have emerged, suggesting a subject that contemplated on parallel way the speech of popular music but also the setting of the direction of urbanity in the social imaginary. Basically, the pedagogy of the songs relate to how the lyrics of music propose an urban pedagogy, by giving advice and clues, spreading out behaviors and codes of how to live and to survive to the modern city that emerges in concrete and smoke of the intestines of the former agrarian and traditional society. Going beyond manuals of behavior of the 19th century, popular music discusses the codes in-use: reaffirming them and some moments questioning its limits. What I nominate pedagogy of the songs must contain the code and the trespass, the use and the disuse, the norm and the anomie. In this article, I present a first sketch of this passage that desires to experiment a certain dialogue between song and city

Keywords : Popular music; Urbanity; Social imaginary.
