COSTA, Camila  e  WAHBA, Liliana Liviano. The young apprentice's rite of passage: a jungian reading. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.2, pp. 1511-1517. ISSN 1984-6657.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5935/rpot/2021.2.19705.

The impact of work on psychosocial development is one of the processes that determines the transition to adulthood. To investigate this transition, research was conducted on the understanding of the work experience of young apprentices based on Jung's understanding of youth and rites of passage. The objective was to measure the future expectations of the apprentices and the relationship with their motivations, the psychological management of adversity, and the connection with supporting figures. The study included 60 apprentices. The instruments used were the Future Expectation Scale, a questionnaire, and a semi-structured interview with three participants. It was concluded that the entrance of the young person into the occupational world is motivated by expectations of professional success and financial gains, that they face difficulties and prejudices, and that the supporting figures in this professional learning, including the advisor, are perceived as indispensable for engagement in the face of adversities in the work environment.
