Abstract

NUNES, Macla. The Berlin Polyclinic: Freudian utopia?. Trivium [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.spe, pp. 50-56. ISSN 2176-4891.

At the V International Psychoanalytic Congress in Budapest, Sigmund Freud (1918) points out that, in addition to focusing on the dissemination of the psychoanalytic knowledge, psychoanalysts should commit to the reconstruction of a civilization marked by the devastating traumas of the first war of the 20th century. In this article we intend to reflect on the creation of the Berlin Polyclinic, whose historical and social significance, together with the Berlin Psychoanalytic Institute, portrays a pioneering spirit that promoted psychoanalysis to an unprecedented level.

Keywords : BERLIN POLYCLINIC; BERLIN PSYCHOANALYTIC INSTITUTE; UTOPIA; PIONEERING SPIRIT.
