The aim of this article is to present contributions of the freudian thought to political theory. For this, we outline the freudian construction about the myth of society’s birth as a dissertation on the topic of social contract. Thus, the psychoanalytic version of the constitution of modern societies pointed in Totem and Taboo will be faced with the theses of contractualist foundation of the State, developed by Hobbes and Rousseau, in the view of the criticisms of Freud’s reflection on the State as a guarantor of order. We will take as the main axis the problem of equality, which can be challenged with the concept of narcissism of small differences. When we take the drive force’s destinies in the constitution of the social, seeing its limits, we will check how Freud architects this idea, and then we move to the criticism of the precarious political harmony among men.
