Abstract

RODRIGUES, Maryana de Castro et al. Reflections on health promotion at school: inventions and possibilities of an university extension project. Desidades [online]. 2021, n.31, pp. 207-219. ISSN 2318-9282.

The entrance exam for university education in Brazil is socially seen as an essential step for young people insertion into adult life and can strongly impact students' health while preparingfor it. This article discusses a concept of health and its link with the educational experience, based on experiences held at a federal high school institution in Niterói-RJ with undergraduate students, organised by an Extensión Project in Psychology from Universidade Federal Fluminense. Workshops and group interaction were used as devices to promote health in the school environment in a way that students felt encouraged to think about the process they were experiencing. This project contributed to understanding how group interaction transforms its participants and enables the empowerment of young people facing the entrance exams and construction of coping strategies to deal with its challenges.
