Contents elaboration and production of contents in the argumentative writing

RESUMO

O estudo focaliza aspectos do processo de produção de textos argumentativos, buscando investigar uma relação de interdependência entre os subprocessos de elaboração e de formulação de conteúdos e ênfase dada pelo sujeito às operações de justificação e negociação. Dez estudantes universitários foram solicitados a produzir um texto num computador, explicitar seus pensamentos durante a escrita e explicar, numa entrevista posterior, as alterações realizadas durante a construção do texto. Deste processo, resultaram três tipos de protocolos que, juntos, constituem o corpus analisado: a fala dos sujeitos durante a produção textual, o texto final e a entrevista. Os resultados apontam para uma relação de interdependência entre os subprocessos de produção das idéias e textualização, sendo tal relação o próprio recurso de elaboração textual, e para uma ênfase maior à justificação uma vez que mais palavras foram produzidas e mais movimentações foram realizadas quando os sujeitos estavam justificando suas posições.

ABSTRACT

This study has focused on aspects of the process of producing argumentative texts. It was aimed at investigating the interdependence relationship between the sub-processes of elaboration and formulation of contents, as wellas the emphasis given by the subjects on the operation of justification and negotiation. Ten university students were requested to produce a text about a given theme using a computer to verbalize their thoughts during the writing process; and to explain, in an interview, the alterations made during the text construction. As a result, three types of protocols, emerged which constitute the corpus analyzed : the verbalizations emited along the text production, the final text and the interview. The results pointed out to an interdependence relationship between the sub-processes of ideas production and the text itself, as well as to underlying the text production. A higher emphasis was given by the subjects to the justification operations.
